- Toplaw.com was first registered in 1995 – the early days of the World Wide Web – by F. Emmett Fitzpatrick, III. Mr. Fitzpatrick, who was at that time a shareholder in the Philadelphia law firm of F. Emmett Fitzpatrick, PC, was an early proponent of Internet technologies. He created and published the first Web site of any law firm in the city of Philadelphia, and later moved that site to Toplaw.com. Another area law firm tried to claim the distinction of publishing the first Web site with a big public relations effort several months after FEF, PC’s site was launched, but proper credit was given by Philadelphia's official legal newspaper,
The Legal Intelligencer, in a May 26, 1995 article.
From 1995 through 2008 Toplaw.com served as the home site of the law firm of F. Emmett Fitzpatrick, PC. In 2009 Mr. Fitzpatrick joined Flamm, Walton, PC in Blue Bell, PA. His former partner, Philadelphia criminal defense attorney NiaLena Caravasos, then created her own Web site, NiaLenaCaravasos.com. Mr. Fitzpatrick presently utilizes Toplaw as a legal information resource, and is evaluating offers to sell the domain. Interested parties may contact him by clicking on the link below.
